How Betting Compass handles your data
A summary of the limited data Betting Compass collects and your rights.

This privacy notice explains how Betting Compass handles personal data. Because we are an information-only site with no betting accounts and no payments, the amount of data involved is deliberately small.

It sets out what we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it and the rights you have under UK data protection law.

Information we collect

Betting Compass is an information-only site, so we collect as little personal data as possible. We do not run betting accounts, we do not take payments, and we do not ask you to register, so there is no account data for us to hold.

If you email us at [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write, which we use only to reply. Our web server may log standard technical information such as anonymised traffic data to keep the site secure and working.

Cookies we use

We keep cookies to a minimum. We do not use advertising or operator-tracking cookies, because we carry no advertising. Any cookies we do set are limited to what is necessary for the site to function or, where used, basic aggregated analytics that do not identify you.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, and doing so will not stop you reading any page on this site.

How long we keep data

We hold personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was given. Emails you send us are kept while we deal with your query and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, then deleted.

Any technical logs are retained only for a short period for security and troubleshooting, in line with the data-minimisation principle of UK data protection law.

Your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have rights over your personal data. These include the right to be informed, the right of access to the data we hold about you, and the rights to rectification, erasure, restriction and objection.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] and we will respond within the statutory time limit. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you believe your data has been handled improperly.

Links to other websites

Our pages sometimes link to official UK sources such as the Gambling Commission, GAMSTOP and GamCare. Those sites have their own privacy notices, which govern any data you share with them, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

We never link to bookmakers or affiliate lists, and we do not pass your data to any third party for marketing.

We may update this notice from time to time to reflect changes in the law or in how the site works. When we do, we will revise the date shown below so you can see when it last changed.
